Now that the dust has settled around the takeover of the Arena, many of you are asking whatโs next.
Youโve seen some bug fixes in these early days, a nice rise in TVL, and the return of immaculate vibes. The Arena is back!
I wanted to outline where are current focus lies and what to expect in the near term in 4 key categories. A lot of this information is forward looking, but will give you a sense of what to be on the lookout for as we rebuild the Arena from the ground up ๐ช
1) ARENA V2: CONTENT CREATION OVER SPECULATION
The core of V2 will focus on empowering content creators rather than pure price speculation. We are creating the tools and infrastructure to foster this environment. SA will be built to last and grow beyond a few initial hype cycles. The true value of social networks that integrate blockchain technology centers around removing middlemen and value extraction, unlocking new forms of monetization and incentive alignment, and forming direct relationships between artists/brands/creators and their fans and communities. These are core tenants where the current SocialFi movement is not reaching its full potential, and where we seek to lead the space. This is how we will expand beyond the tight knit crypto community and create the rails to onboard new types of users while continually benefiting the existing ones.
The very first new feature will be live tomorrow. Four days since we took over the platform.
We will ship real features, no gimmicks, faster than other apps in the space to improve your user experience. That is the V2 pledge ๐ซก
Additionally, weโve solidified a pipeline of Web2 content creators that you will see playing around with the app over the next few months.

2) AIRDROP
The same concept applies to the airdrop.
The algorithm from the former team focused solely on financialization. The only two metrics were portfolio value and trading volume.
While still important metrics for the new airdrop system, we will look to incentivize and reward more forms of app usage, content creation, and engagement in V2. Leaderboards will track key categories in real time. Power users will be identified by more than just their holdings. Support those who support you, V2 is not pvp.
We are rebuilding the model from scratch so there will be no airdrops for the next few weeks. During that time, we will still be monitoring activity in the app to retroactively airdrop points once weโre live. All points earned so far will translate over.
And make sure to hold onto those points, they may get you something โgudโ in the future ๐
3. TEAM
Youโve probably seen some members of the Rove team roaming around the Arena. Some of them will be brought over, but a bigger team is being formed to exclusively build out V2. We will be able to announce the full new team when all contracts are finalized.
This new team includes 3 different unicorn builders. SA will be next ๐ซก
4. STARS ARENA BRAND
As we continue to forge our own new path with V2, we will undergo a rebrand of the Arena. This will include a new logo and changes to the UI/UX of the platform that better fits this new direction.
I welcome all the new gladiators that are stepping foot into the Arena for the first time. To all the OG supporters that are rebuilding this platform to greatness, rejoice. We ask for your continued patience and support as we cook like never before.
