One of the most important jobs of a founder is capital strategy.
Getting funding is not the hard part anymore. Today, almost any reasonably presented idea can find some form of capital. Maybe it is a small round, maybe seed, maybe much more. The real question is what happens after the money arrives.
Too many startups raise before the product is truly built. Then a large part of the round gets consumed by salaries, development, experimentation, and infrastructure before the company has something capable of generating meaningful revenue. By the time the product is ready, a meaningful portion of the fuel is already gone.
@Balcore_AI took the opposite path. I funded the initial working product out of my own pocket. The architecture, smart contracts, offchain engine, keeper infrastructure, dashboard, simulations, and testnet work were built before asking outside capital to carry the company.
What makes Balcore even more interesting is the problem itself. We are tackling one of the hardest problems in DeFi: how to make AMM market making economically sustainable by managing impermanent loss, inventory imbalance, liquidity placement, and capital efficiency as one coordinated system.
That changes the purpose of fundraising completely. For us, seed or Series A capital is not primarily there to figure out whether Balcore can be built. It is there to accelerate something that is already built. More liquidity. More markets. Security. Integrations. Distribution. Institutional access. Faster expansion.
My goal is simple: get the company to meaningful revenue as early as possible through working product, then use outside capital as fuel for scale, not fuel for survival. There is a big difference between raising money to build the engine and raising money after the engine is already running. Build first. Prove it. Then pour fuel on it.
